I am truly honored to be part of this years awards.. but honestly.. the power of this song.. is really in it’s creation. I had a chance to visit Standing Rock during the plight to protect our most precious resource.. water! I went to Standing Rock with little to offer.. but my hands and my heart.. I volunteered at various places in the camp.. but when I left… I knew I had to do more.. THEE and I decided to compose a song that would invoke the mind to think about our own personal responsibility to the environment.. and we launched Wake Up in hopes to share a message… You have the power to make a difference, but you must wake up your own personal environmental consciousness… You too leave footprints on our mother earth.. be sure you walk softly.. #WaterProtectors
