Indigenous Networks is a native owned consulting firm founded by Kelly Jackson a member of the Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians . Ms. Jackson represents over 18 years of experience in tribal relations, historic preservation and environmental management and protection. Indigenous Networks serves tribal governments, state and federal agencies and private organizations interested in enhancing tribal government roles in the preservation industry.

Building a Preservation Infrastructure

Indigenous Networks provides professional services to assist Tribal Governments in the development and implementation of Tribal Codes, policies and procedures which aid in a tribe’s ability to protect their interests with regard to cultural and natural resources locally, regionally and nationally. Indigenous Networks also provides state and federal agency support in the development of consultation policies and procedures which enhance the manner tribes engage in agency activities relating to environmental and cultural resource management and preservation.

In addition, Indigenous Networks coordinates and facilitates consultation meetings, intertribal initiatives, public engagement activities and strategic planning sessions.

Historic Preservation Program Development

Indigenous Networks is dedication to the enhancement of Tribal Historic Preservation programs and provides services to aid in the establishment, development, and sustainability of programs and projects. Indigenous Networks assist with THPO applications, comprehensive historic preservation planning, creation of committees and legislative support systems, Tribal Registers of Historic Places and criteria, and the creation and refinement of data‐management system for both section 106 case loads and site and survey databases. Services include grant writing expertise in all areas of Historic Preservation including but not limited to: NPS Historic Preservation Fund, NAGPRA, Saving America’s Treasures and Preserve America.
